Surgical center

Our surgical center is equipped with 3 phacoemulsifiers and the latest Vitrectomy systems (Millenium, Sovereign and Infiniti), Zeiss Microscopes, 2 sterilizers, materials and medications from the best laboratories. All surgical materials are used once and then discarded, thus providing the best eye care possible. We have a Commission for fighting hospital infection, enabling the procedures to be performed safely and reliably.

At the Dr. Rogério Horta Eye Institute our highly trained staffs of Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Technicians, and Surgery Assistants attend conferences and forums frequently so that patients can have the best treatment options available.

The careful choice of equipment and medication coming from the best laboratories enables us to obtain better pre and post-operative results. The assurance of having a clear cornea on the first day after surgery, the reduction of ultra sound total energy, reduced turbulence, the use of viscoelastics of excellent quality allied to surgeons’ skills and experience aim to preserve endothelia cells and intraocular structure of the anterior segment-all of these combined make for a successful operation.
